JNCO Fan Series: Tyler Andrade

Tyler Andrade is an aspiring costume designer from Rosemead, CA. You may recognize him from the “JNCO Kids” photoshoot, which was shared almost 1,000 times on Facebook and had nearly 2,000 likes. Tyler was kind enough to sit down with us and discuss his life and love for JNCO.

What are your hobbies?

I am an aspiring custom designer primarily focused on recreating weapons and armor from video games and comic books.

Who are your fashion/lifestyle inspirations?

My choice of fashion and lifestyle are not so much from a single person; but, from an idea that I am still piecing together in my head. I dress and try to live in a way that makes me comfortable with who I am. It was not too long ago that I was an introvert. Shy, timid, and never really wanting to be noticed by anyone. Thanks to the style change and the friends I have gained over the last couple of years it has urged me to be outgoing and have confidence in whatever it is that I do or wear.

What do you like best about JNCO?

The most enjoyable aspect of JNCO is the way the brand demands to be noticed. Whether it’s the jeans, shirts, or jackets, JNCO is out there and “in your face” with no gray areas about its popularity. You either hate it or you love it – and I love it.

How does JNCO align with your lifestyle?

As I stated earlier, my choices in fashion and lifestyle are based around the idea that I want to be comfortable and confident in whatever it is I am doing. I can’t think of a better way to show up to an awesome party or just lounge around with a couple of close friends than to be wearing a pair of JNCO jeans.

Why do you think there’s a demand for 90s fashion again?

In my opinion (and I’m sure I’m not the only one who feels this way), I think that there is a sense of nostalgia that needs to be regained nowadays as with the return of any trend. The 90s not only brought new styles like baggie jeans, hoodies, and Ts into the mix. The decade also allowed enough room for past trends from the 50s, 60s, and 70s to make their return and coexist in an “updated” way. Plus how cool is it to feel like a kid again and look like a cartoon character, amirite?

What’s your favorite JNCO product?

Besides the phat pants, I am a huge fan of the bowling shirts.

Why would you recommend JNCO to others?

Unlike some other brands, JNCO offers quality clothing. When people come up to me or my friends and ask “Where can I get a pair of those?” I know we can answer happily because we have not been disappointed. Even now our collections are made of JNCO jeans that were put together YEARS ago and are still holding strong.

Thank you guys for coming back… You have no idea as to how much I have missed Jnco… Roo’s and Mammoth and Trog and Slackers… I can’t wait till you get running at speed… I would love to see something that is work ready… Something like Cargo straight leg… maybe with a larger cuff but… Oh man I am so freakin happy… Make a work line… That is where your market will run heavy… Something that is true to Jnco but not going to get me in trouble with the boss… It was never your over sized or outlandish style… What really made the product is the unbelievable comfort… Its like you guys used some type of denim never seen before… So comfy… Either way thanks guys I know it was just an art thing for you creators but Jnco was a life style… I will be buying more pants then I can afford… My kid will be wearing Jnco… BTW I need you to make a girls line… So a work line and girls line… Thank you so much Jacques and Haim…
